How to Resolve Card Jams
- Update your printer’s drivers and firmware to the newest version
- Clean your printer
- Try printing one card at a time
- Try using a different pack of cards
- Ensure that you are using the correct power supply (each printer comes with a power supply)
Power Off and Open the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it
- Open the printer cover to access the card path
Remove the Stuck Card
- Gently pull out the jammed card. If it’s stuck under a roller, turn the roller manually to release it.
- Check if there are any small card fragments left inside.
Check for Obstructions
- Look for debris, dust, or misaligned cards inside the feeder or print path.
- If the card is warped or defective, discard it.
Clean the Rollers
- Use a cleaning card or lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers.
- Dirty rollers can cause improper card feeding.
Reload the Cards Correctly
- Make sure the cards are:
- Clean and undamaged
- Stacked properly (not stuck together)
- Within printer specifications (CR-80 size, 30 mil thickness)

Run a Cleaning Cycle
- Turn on the printer.
- Go to FARGO Workbench Utility → Select DTC4250e → Click on Printer Cleaning.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

Test Print
- Insert a fresh stack of cards and print a test card to ensure the issue is resolved.
