1. Power Cycle the Printer for HDP5000 Error 112 Card Jam

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it for 30 seconds.
  • Then plug it back in and turn the printer on.

2. Check for a Jammed Card

  • Open the printer’s front cover.
  • Remove the ribbon cartridge.
  • Look for any stuck cards inside and gently remove them.

3. Examine the Input Hopper and the Output Area

  • Make sure cards are not sticking together in the input hopper.
  • Ensure the card thickness dial is set correctly (typically 30 mil).
  • Remove any misfed cards from the output area.

4. Ensure the Rollers are thoroughly cleaned

  • The use a cleaning card to remove dirt from the rollers.
  • If rollers are worn out, they may need replacement.

5. Reinitialize the printer.
